PosiTest G Magnetic Thickness Gauge

magnetic spesimeter with carbide measuring probe weather-resistant / shock-resistant housing, water and acid resistant / two different versions with different measurement ranges available PosiTest G 0 ...200 µm

Our magnetic thickness gauge PosiTest allows you to check layer thicknesses on magnetic surfaces or substrates. This magnetic thickness gauge is a suitable tool for the quick verification of large and small surfaces. It is guaranteed that the coating of the measured surface is not damaged. These coatings include paints, PVC, zinc layers, metallization, and also powder coatings as can be found on steel or iron. With our magnetic thickness gauge, it is easy to measure small parts of any shape, without a movement during measurement leading to measurement inaccuracies. This magnetic thickness gauge can be used to measure maximum and minimum thicknesses and then evaluate whether the values are within the established limits. The user can easily set the minimum layer thickness on the display. Once this value is set, the magnetic thickness gauge can indicate whether the minimum limit has been respected. This measurement is performed using the principle of magnetism, as the magnet is attracted by steel or iron, and the coating is obviously not thick enough to prevent attraction. On the other hand, our magnetic thickness gauge can check whether the maximum thickness has been exceeded or not. As explained above, a valuation can also be made here through magnetism, but in the opposite sense of the previously mentioned test. This means that our magnetic thickness gauge is placed, and if the magnet is attracted too soon, it can be concluded that the coating is not thick enough. Additionally, there is the possibility to define the current layer thickness. For this, the display is adjusted to the maximum thickness value to be measured. Then, the magnetic thickness gauge must be placed on the sample. Next, the measurement sensor clicks, and then the display must be adjusted to the minimum value until the gauge is released. The determined value on the scale indicates the thickness of the coating.
