High voltage insulation tester METRISO PRIME 

(analog device powered by battery with test voltages (up to 5000 V) and a measurement range of up to 1 TOhm to check the insulation resistance of conductors, components, materials, compounds / with analog display)

The analog insulation tester for high voltage has adjustable measurement voltages of 100, 250 V, 500 V, 1000 V (according to EN 61 557 part 1) and 1500 V, 2000 V, 2500 V, 5000 V. This insulation tester is standardized for checking insulation resistance/penetration in electrical conduits (in machines, transformers, cables as well as in electrical devices of locomotives, trams, maritime vehicles).

It can also be used to check insulation plates, bonding materials, and plastic plates for insulation resistance to the respective electrical conductivity of various materials. The maximum insulation resistance can be read on the analog display. With the voltage measurement ranges, the absence of voltages from the objects in networks to be checked can be set up to 2 kV. This is important in insulation resistance measurements, as external voltages distort the measurement result.

Capacitive control objects such as cables and windings that can be charged with the test voltage are discharged through the device. The voltage drop can be observed directly on the device by the needle deflection.

The high insulation measurement cables are fixedly connected for safety and metrological reasons. This prevents the risk of unintentionally pulling out the cable, for example during loading with capacitive control objects.
